Nordic Travel Retail Seminar 2016

This year’s Nordic Travel Retail Seminar will take place on 8 June in Stockholm.

Arrival and registration will begin around 10.30 local time. The all-day program will include prominent speakers and an always welcoming and rewarding atmosphere. In the evening all participants will gather for a drink and dinner.

About Naser Khader

Naser Kahder is a leading proponent of peaceful co-existence of democracy and Islam. Khader co-founded an association of Islamism critics in 2008, with the aim to promote freedom of speech and inspire moderate Muslims worldwide. Naser Khader, born in Damascus, Syria, has lived in Denmark since 1974 and is a Danish citizen.

Naser Khader is a Senior Fellow at Hudson Institute. He has written several books about Islam and integration, and gives lectures worldwide on that subject. He has been awarded several prizes in recognition of his fight for freedom of speech, secularity, and integration of immigrants into the Danish culture.

Since 2015, Naser Khader is a member of the Parliament of Denmark for the Conservative People’s Party. He was first elected to Parliament representing the Danish Social Liberal Party in 2001. In 2007 he left this party to found New Alliance (later Liberal Alliance), whom he represented from 2007 until 5 January 2009.

 

ETRC Business Forum 2016

The ETRC has announced the name of the keynote speaker for the upcoming ETRC Business Forum at Sheraton Brussels Airport Hotel, 28th January 2016.

EU Transport Commissioner Violeta Bulc will be addressing the industry to outline her vision for the future of aviation and maritime development in Europe. Commissioner Bulc has overall responsibility for Transport issues within the European Commission.

  • Welcome & Opening Address: Sarah Branquinho, President – ETRC. Sarah will give an update on the current portfolio of activity undertaken by ETRC on behalf of its members.
  • European Airports Travel Retail Business performance 2015: Fulvio Fassone, Vice President Business Development – ETRC. In this popular session Fulvio will share the latest market performance and trends in 2015 from ETRC’s own industry sales index, compiled in co-operation with Generation.
  • Understanding the Travel Retail Shopper: Garry Stasiulevicuis, Counter Intelligence Retail. Taken from the recent multi-category shopper study undertaken on behalf of TFWA, this presentation takes a look at how shopper preferences differ across the entire travel retail offer.

Keith Spinks, Secretary General – ETRC: In this presentation, Keith will identify the impacts and changes that the implementation of the new EU legislation in May will have upon tobacco retailing for European duty free and travel retail.

  • Policy Issue II: Confectionery , Alcohol, and beyond – Informing consumers via off-the-pack technologies

This session will look at providing the audience with options for the industry to meet the growing challenges on providing consumer information in the duty free & travel retail channel through technological solutions.

Keith Spinks, Secretary General – ETRC: Understanding the political context for responding to the growing challenge of providing information to consumers.

John Hume, Managing Partner – Hume Brophy:  A review of technology options to inform consumers off-the-label.

The November Members’ Meeting for many NTRG-members has turned into a must-attend event. Members’ Meetings are free of charge for employees at NTRG Member Companies.

  • Berlingske Media is Denmark’s largest news publishing group and houses one of the world’s oldest existing newspapers: Berlingske. On the top of the newly renovated domicile of Berlingske Media, the member meeting will take place offering a unique view of the Copenhagen rooftops, thus providing the perfect settings for industry relevant news, information and inspiration.
  • The top floor of Copenhagen’s old main telegraph station is today the restaurant of the national Post & Tele Museum from where there is a beautiful view of Copenhagen City.
